Another prime development around the same location as Nathan Suites will be launched for sale soon. This is the Newport Residences, that is the residential component of the mixed development at 80 Anson Road that was formerly the Fuji Xerox Towers. This project will also have a commercial retail section in the form of the Newport Tower, and a public space to be called Newport Square.

The Newport Residences Singapore site is a really prime parcel of land. It sits on the south-western end of the Shenton Way CBD, in the Tanjong Pagar neighbourhood. In fact it occupies an island site, bounded by Anson Road, Bernam Street, Tanjong Pagar Road, and Keppel Viaduct above Keppel Road.

What is unusual and attractive about Newport is that it sits on freehold land. Very few mixed developments are freehold, especially among all the recent launches.
